Concentration Statement

My work is about the use of eyes in a psychedelic form. How they can be used in a
psychedelic setting. I care about this because I love the way eyes look when you draw/paint them, also I love incorporating different subjects with them, you can create a story with the eye itself. I love how eye can show your emotion and how your feeling just by looking at them they are definitely "windows to the soul". I show this through imagery by drawing the eye/eyes and then go onto adding something to it to give it a more psychedelic feel and try to incorporating how they are feeling from what I see. Specific example of this are seen in the piece called
Thoughts Wondering based on the background, I drew the eyes in the center then around it I drew floating shapes, I was trying to give it a feel of floating in thoughts, because when I look in the eyes I drew I just saw someone stressed out. The shapes are representing all the jumbled up thoughts you have when your stressed out but its also very psychedelic. I used acrylic paint, water color, colored pencil, and graphite pencil. My practice evolved over time, starting with the idea of eyes, studying how they show emotion, and how they can be used in different ways/settings. This notion then changed to exploring into eye being used in psychedelic settings and creating emotion reflecting the eyes.
